By your answers I see that you don't catch the trick of the watznew
thingie. The main feature is onot just indicate that some page has updated
(which apparently netscape boomarks has), but to show me the data from the
page in any format I want: number of the issue, headlines etc. Everything
is done using some weird regular expressions, but if you have active perl,
you can write your own perl module quiclky to parse it as you want.
That's what I'm looking for, and it seemed to me that the origin of this
was somewhere on unix, since perl on MS didn't look native to me. Maybe I
was wrong.
P.S What do people think when they give me answers like
"www.freshmeat.net"? Of course I checked there first, but I didn't know
what to look for, that's why I asked the list. I thought such a util would
be usefull to every onliner.
