thanks Choo, I didn't get around to it...

I can tell you the firt part of the story... I picked up maddog in the
morning and we drove to Jerusalem to meet Amnon Barak and see the MOSIX
lab. For the few uninitiated out here on the list it's a really exciting
project, and is only now taking off. the MoD took off the distribution
limitations recently and after getting slashdotted twice the Mosix set
of tools and patches is downloaded a few thousand times a month, and the
huji team is getting a lot of useful feedback. maddog was quite
impressed and promissed that VA Linux' slow response to Barak (on
cooperation) is because of the growth pains and the fact Larry Augustine
wasn't the direct contact, but he will help them spread the word.

in the meantime he was trying to get to his India contact on the phone,
becasue up until the very last minute he couldn't get a Visa to India
(which is his next stop on this tour before he can finally going home
after being on the roads for 2 weeks.)... it's hard to be a professional
evangelist! from India he goes home, has enough time to wash his cloths
and repack for The Bazaar in NY.

after the talk Ury invited him to a beer, and got to hear some useful
tech and business advice. He has a promissing startup in the bag, which
I'm sure you'll all hear about when it takes off.

All in all, I must say Jon was a great sport. soon after I picked him up
I noticed he was a bit tired after a week of meatings and offered him
5-6 "escapes" if he preffered to go back to his hotel, but he was glad
to come and meet our group, and I hope that after all he was happy to
meet us. the Linux movement could not ask for a better evangelist/father
figure... one could almost say we have two mascots: a smiling Penguin
and a maddog! :-)

au contrair. I'll definitely be in touch with David Leichner on the
subject, but do start recommending interesting subjects to discuss and
raise. We're talking about a serious conference here, not another booth
expo, and Israelis have a lot to donate to the discussions in the fields
of both business and technology. if Linux is the future of OSs and
Israel is the future of business in the middle east, there are some
major foundations we could be part of. Israel is first in the world in
number of startups per capita, and number od SUCCESSFUL ones per capita
too. Linux has to be a part of that future, and this group should be
too. "Ki Me-Tzion Teze Torah".

On with the show.
