Modem Update: If you'll goto http://lwn.net and look at the last weeks
articles, you'll find that Lucent has released a binary only driver for
their modem (it's in RPM).
I don't have IBM Thinkpad 600 (I wish I'll have one), but from what I
read on various places - it seems to work fine (the module was compiled
on Redhat 6.1)
