i know that you get Segmentation fault msg' when trying to access memory 
that your not supposed to reach, usually it is caused if someone is trying 
to access the memory using a pointer to NULL
(for example if you write in c, a program that does strcmp(argv[i],NULL) it 
will at run give you that msg').
however i've never heard the linuxconf gives this msg'
