Yes, this is a matter of approach.
If you approach an individual Linux-IL subscriber with your newbie
question in private E-mail message, you'll get courteous help (unless you
have the bad luck to ask a 'sociomat').
If you E-mail your newbie question to the Linux-IL mailing list, you can
expect to get flogged on your most tender balls by differential SCSI
cable (or worse).
