bull, the only thing that won't work is the program that
shuts down your computer on powerfail.
most UPSs come with a serial cable and the hard thing to do is
to tell powerd (the daemon that listens to it and decides if
there is a powerfail according to the output from the UPS)
which lines are used to which signals.
i have an advice UPS and it sucks, i have spent hours trying to
configure it with no luck - if there is someone out there who
succeeded please mail me your configuration.
