This is procmail. Almost no mail client will do what procmail can do, and
I don't even think any of mail client makers will try to do it. There's
no need to invent the very-close-to-round wheel if there's perfectly
round one on the market.

I won't advise you to go to this way. Imagine someone senfing you a file
with a name `rm -rf /`.gif and you using shell to run viewer on it...

Depends on what the format was, surely. Unfortunately, many client makers
feel unresistable urge to reinvent the wheel and put the mail into own
proprietary format...
