I am not here to start an Holy war, but what so good about Solaris7?
I just had to configure 7.2 and compered to RH6 it sucks.
Just to configure the network I had to do unconfigure system
and then reboot.
You also get one WM the CDE.
Then somehow it desided to call itsellf %M, we serched and searched and found
it ... /etc/nodename...
And to make it connect to the world, we had to manually create
/etc/defaultroute after looking in the on-line manual, Sun like to
sell it's Admin books, so If you must look for Help you need to pay
or read it on-line.
We just bought one of the thier servers can't they throw in a book
togather with the free workstation?
Now all of this just to set the eth0 or what ever it is called on Sun.
BTW Ultra Linux claims to be faster then Solaris on the same machine,
So leave the configuration aside, what is so bad with it?
