if you want the ultimate source - "Unix Network Programming, volume 1"
by W. Richard Stevens. it's almost 1000 pages, out of which about 700 are
about socket programming and other related material. you could find it in
any on-line book store, such as amazon.com, or bookpool.com .
if you want something lighter, there are on-line tutorials that can get
your started.
