What exactly do you mean by this?  If you want to make maximum out of your
processor, compile the kernel with the appropriate processor type
(Pentium/PPro etc.)  You may also consider the pentium-optimized version
of gcc (called pgcc).  It is reported to give up to ~30% speedup (quite
rare).
