My crontab has SHELL=/bin/sh (SuSE 6.1) so as long as /bin/sh
exists, no problem!
I do NOT use a HOME=/ (or HOME= at all on my personal box)

What does the output of /usr/bin/mrtg --help give you (&/or a
man page?) and *can* you pass /mrtg/main-lizard.cfg on to
/usr/bin/mrtg?
Do you have permissions on the directory /mrtg and the files in
it set for your user?
