I can't speak for anyone else, but having a wife and 3 kids (17, 4, 1.3)
and no car, a picnic is out, although you can see Givat Ram from my house.
A meeting in a restaurant makes a lot more sense to me. Either I can make
it or not, but I don't have to arrange for picnic food, diapers, public
toilets a 4 year old can use, entertainment for the non computer geeks in
the family (wife, 1.3 year old), etc.
