1. All along the Xfree doc's warnings are scattered regarding possible
actual physical damage to monitors caused by wrong setup. I'm *not* an
expert on this subject and anyway - I take those warnings seriously... .

2. I *think* that the site engine's will fit your monitor specs. I
*think* it's suited for monitors with a variable range of horizontal
scanning freq's rather than fixed hor' scanning freq's like in old
monitors. Anyway, I "played" once with new Sony 17" monitor. When
configured X badly, it resulted in activation of some built in
protection of the monitor displaying a message: "out of sync range". So
new monitors have some protection (your's is processor controlled),
ALTHOUGH this is obviously no guaranty!.

3. The site contains some explanations, as much as I recall. I advise
you to read it (thats what I did).

Bottom line: I think it's for you. "bli achraiut!" ;-)
