Hi, could you elaborate on the exact procedure, and what is the type of
problems you obtain and in which stage of the installation?
And did you read the compatibility dbase yet!, it will be helpfull to know
that your hardware Is ok (or not!), this means that the problem has
(hasn't!!) a chance of being solved...with out replacing equipment..
One more thing, DO READ the errata of RH6.0 (www.redhat.com/support),
they have new boot disks (3) that should solve some problems
(with SMP) discovered with the boot disks supplied with the package
(where did You get it from).
and a general alert for RH6.0 users which are on the net:
Package: kernel update
Updated: 03-Jun-1999
Problem:
(03-Jun-1999):Security
New packages that correct a vulnerability in the kernels
that shipped with Red Hat Linux 6.0 are now
available. When exploited this vulnerability allows
remote users to crash machines running 2.2.x kernels.
Thanks to Piotr Wilkin for reporting the problem and to
Alan Cox for the fix.
Red Hat Software recommends that all users with
networked machines upgrade to this release.
