I suggest you to delete linux partitions with 
 linux's fdisk

( insert linux installation disk into the drive, 
   proceed untill partitioning state, enter fdisk or disk druid,
   delete all linux partitions, save the work & reboot )

After that you can use DOS fdisk to create new dos partition(s).
By the way, if you have lilo installed, look at
 
 man lilo

 to see how to uninstall it. (I suppose what you aren't going to format your
HD ?)
