I'm not a hardware guru, but my guru and me have excellent experience
with BusLogic BT-958, a two-years old controller.  Buslogic is what
the guy who developed SCSI for Linux had at least back then (I suspect
that still today) and have the best support in Linux.  It never gave
any of us any problem using UW disks and other devices.

I don't know if they'll talk to you, but try looking for MBA in Ramat
Hasharon in order to buy it.
