Hi,
I can reproduce this problem consistently with the RedHat 5.1 boot image.
It depends on the PC. The problem occurs on an Intel board with a 486
DX100 processor. I suspect that the problem also occurs on older
machines or is connected with the chipset used. The exact same boot
diskette works fine with a new "Motherboard" Pentium machine purchased in
the last year. I suggest that you try the diskette on a really new of
genuine Taiwanese manufacture, not a DEC, Intel or IBM name brand machine.
