You should create an extended partition, as one of the first 4,
and put some partitions inside it. Refering to your plan,
the logical thing seems to put root+swap on the extended.
Every fdisk program has it's own way to create an extended
partition. Some do that automatically, when you create partition
number 5, but you should not fill the first 4 before doing this.
