Hi all..
I seem to have a problem with Sendmail on my server. it worked out just
great for eversince I installed it, but suddenly today it stoped accepting
mail from users (posted through SMTP). it instead reply with "we don not
relay" messages on any mail that should go outside to the world.
my setup was aimed at allowing connections from everywhere (I know it's
not secure, and not recomended, but I need to allow users from remote
connections, which I wouldn't know where they will be in advance, to be
able to send and recieve mail).
my name_allow file was like this :
il
net
org
edu
com
my relay_allow file was like this
*.mishkei.org.il
*.org.il
*.il
deny and ip_allow were empty.
what I did was to edit ip_allow and I'd put in all the IP numbers of the
dial-up connections used by the kibutz. but I suspect that now it won't
accept messages from outside the kibutz (which is not what I had in mind).
the cf file was the original cf file I got with RedHat (5.1) I messed with
it for a while, and then decided that the default one is good enough for
me.
what I don't understand is why it stopped accepting mail all of a sudden
(I didn't install anything or changed anything in the last week), and how
to make it work again (w/o putting every IP I intend to get mail from in
the ip_allow file)..
does anyone has any suggestion ??
Oded
