unless there are objections, i think i could try taking part in this part.
most likely this would include giving some introductory explanations about
how to boot up the system and create new users, why not to work as root,
setting the most basic security before connecting to the internet, and
perhaps how to establish a PPP connection (the last part is probably
important and yet tricky...) - do you have some phone line that can be
used to demonstrate PPP over dial-up? and is there enough space in rifkin
to place 2 rows of chairs for such a demonstration?

now, when i last was in an installation party, there was too much of a
mess to set up such a lecture (it was stas's organization, in the 'disco'
hall at 'beit hastudent'). how was it during the last rifkin party? wasn't
it too crouded?
