Yes. More about it at:

See my notes at the bottom of this message.

Well, I already asked this question and a lot of other questions, a
long time ago, immediately after the first announcement, in the Linux
forum at Sivan. Unfortunately, the message is not there anymore.
I asked why they mentioned ILUG without telling us. I wrote that I am
happy that 90% of the text of announcement is mine (I wrote it for
Computax 98, a year ago), but it could be even better if they could
tell me about it. I asked how do they plan to finish everything in 3
hours. I asked about pupils and students who are busy in 9:00-12:00.
I asked why can't they install 6.0 (although it was a long time
before the announcement, but it was easy to guess that 6.0 would be
ready for the party). I asked why isn't there any README or
instructions for the coming people, with the usual crucial
details (like to prepare an empty partition or an empty disk BEFORE
coming to the installation party; Nobody wants to be blamed for
destroying all the user's data because of a bug of fips or Magic
Partition, or a stupid power fail. In addition, re-partitioning disks
may double or even triple the time needed to install Linux). I asked
why don't they work together with other companies (such as PF1).

The most important part was the connection with us (ILUG). Not only
regarding to the permission to put our name on the announcement, but
also for the experience of some of us, which could avoid these
mistakes, to contribute previous announcements with details about
what to prepare before the party, etc. Also, the connection with us
is important because they don't have the manpower to install hundreds
of Linuxes in 3 hours, without our gurus.

For their credit, I must note that they answered me, gave it a high
attention, and were very serious. Regarding to the name of ILUG, they
wrote that they were in touch in one of us (I don't remember who). It
could be better if he wrote about it on the list. Regarding to other
joining forces, they wrote that they are in touch with PF1. Regarding
to 6.0 they wrote that there would be more installation parties in
the future (although I didn't accept this answer). They changed the
time from 9:00-12:00 to 9:00-14:00. And they put a link to a generic
form for registering your hardware etc. (though it is a bad one, in
English, and with too much Java, exploding your browser to death).

The most important thing, the connection with us, was answered too:
They asked me what I suggest to do, and I answered that they should
subscribe to the list and send a message. I promised them that a lot
of people would be happy to help and contribute.

They did it. But nobody, EVEN NOT ONE, answered them.

Of course, there are still a lot of issues which were not solved, but
I don't think that Sivan is to be blamed. They are doing their best,
and try to help the Linux in Israel. We are the only to be blamed.
