Immersia is one of the leading companies worldwide in developing software
for Location Based Interactive Entertainment applications.
Immersia bases it's products on off-the-shelf PC's, currently operating
on the DOS operating system with the DOS4GW extender. This is mainly due to the
fact that other OS's such as Windows do not supply a viable stable solution for
stand-alone machines being operated worldwide without any attendance and need
for maintenance. We currently have over 2,000 units in the field worldwide and
are exploring the possibility of porting our software technologies,
infrastructure and applications to operate and be tested in the field using the
LINUX OS. We feel that LINUX might be a viable stable solution, now that many
hardware vendors have declared upcoming support for LINUX.
We are
seeking one expert in LINUX (internals and programming, not administrators) for
a full time employment contract at Immersia, to take care of this project.
