well, i am getting some real wierd problems concerning 2.0.36 kernel on RedHat 5.2 i tried to compile a 2.0.36 kernel downloaded as a tarball and not as an RPM (i dont like redhat's modified kernel) and i couldnt apply the awedrv patch to the kernel. i got an error that it cant find the files i left it after to days of TRYING to solve this issue. i was desperated and moved back to the RPM modified 2.0.36 kernel and there, everything would apply OK, even the awedrv! why only RPM modified kernel would work? (if i "make mrproper" the modified kernel it wont compile....) why tarballed kernel wont compile correct? Yarin
