EK>> True, Philips didn't issue "CustoMax" for a UNIX plattform but that

How to do it? If you know, help our fellow to do it. Why are you silent?

EK>> Once i did got a trapezoid picture but that was due to refresh rates.

I though any sane SW rate settings should make rectangular picture? Or I
don't understand something?

EK>> In xf86setup under "Monitor" i chose "Extended Super Vga, 800x600 @
EK>> 60Hz, 640x480 @ 72 Hz" and in "Modeselection" - 800x600 (which is

Excellent indeed. Taking that minimal bearable rate is 72Hz and good one
is 75-80 Hz, and that even 800x600 is way too small for serious work...

EK>> reasonable with a 15" screen) but i started with the lowest color

My 15" is at 1152x900. At 72 Hz. I need more, in all three categories.

EK>> Little fine tunning was needed and "xvidtune" was good enough for
EK>> that.

Tell me how do you correct trapezoid or skew or gamma with xvidtune.

EK>> IMHO it's a great monitor: great picture, not bad speakers and VERY
EK>> LOW radiation (Philips is one of the biggest fanatics as it comes to

I somehow think that "low radiation" is a marketing trick only. You get
many times more from your cellular, IMHO. And some put it in jeans pockets :)
Just imagine all those waves crossing your body and get real paranoidal
feeling :))

And how do you know it's "VERY LOW" radiation? Which tool did you use to
measure it? Which monitors did you compare it to? Or is it because it has
"VERY LOW RAD" written on it's box?

EK>> So, it's a little difficult to configure, you can say that on almost
EK>> every aspect of Linux.

No. *My* Linux is easy to configure. If yours is difficult to, RTFM - you
obvously are doing it wrong way. And I'm not going to pay real money
($340+ for 17", IIRC) for something that is "little difficult" for me. I
have choice, I choose. And I want to inform others, to help them to choose
also.

EK>> Black lists is something M$ do to dealers who sell competing
EK>> products...

You don't like term "black list" - call it "List of hardware that
doesn't work with Linux". It'll be all facts. If you don't like it, don't
read it.
