The answer is simple.
I don't believe in "shouting" my opinion all over the place. Vadim's first
suggestion looked quite sensible, and since I had no objections (and since
what he said is the usual way of doing things in other serious mailing
lists) I didn't think I should polute this mailing list with "me too".
Also, since Vadim is the one doing the work, you might be a bit nicer as to
give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure that if there were enough
objections to the "linux-announce" thing, he would have seperated the lists.
Since he didn't, you can be nice enough to assume there's a sensible reason
for it.
After all, Vadim could've said "ok, the new rules are as follows...". He
didn't, so please lay off him.
One last thing - I was taught that the person holding the root password is
responsible to the machine (I was also taught how to break the root's
password, but that's another issue ;-). In this case, I believe Vadim is the
equivelant of root of the mailing list. For all I care, he could decide that
only red-headed are allowed in the list. If you don't like it - unsubscribe.
Just my thoughts.
