Yeah, yeah. You need smbmount from samba build. That is: get samba source,
build it, take smbmount, use it. Be warned that parameters have changed
from old smbmount. Maybe, RH also has some package available already,
though I won't recommend any from Rawhide, etc - they have annoying
tendency to build them with last shapshot of glibc, which I cannot always

Not. Just set up DNS as your ISP DNS'es on both machines. It should work.
Just configure diald, if present, not to dial for DNS queries.

Maybe that's just bad ISP DNS? I know one Israeli ISP, whose name begins
with "net" and ends with "vision", that bombards me with "Dest.
Unreachable" from their DNS'es about 3-4 times a day, each blackout
continuing about 2-3 minutes.
