Not exactly, at least according to what I understand. I registered my account
about two weeks ago (actualy it was the only URL I every sent to all my
friends, in TFUTZAT NATO). So far, not a single SPAM. They say that the
compressed format used on PC and Mac platforms is opened by a client which may
display the spam, but if you register as a Linux user, you get normal TIFFs,
and as far as I can tell, no spam).

on the other hand, all I did was to register, and send myself a test fax from
israel. It arrived fine, with no spam whatsoever, and not a single spam letter
ever since.

What surprised me, was that the number I got was a normal 7 digit USA number!
It's (708) 570-XXXX . At this rate, they can easily cover the whole 708 area.
I was expecting to receive something like "You number is (XXX)-XXX-XXXX,
extension number YYYYY, which should be tone dialed after the number". This
way all they need is a smart PC (or PC's), and they don't need a real phone
number for every client (yes, I understand they can get "virtual" numbers, but
it probably costs them per number, while the extension thing costs them
practicallly zero tarrifs for the local telco).
