I know that "you shouldn't use X, use Y" posts are not the best, however, you should not be using heartbeat. It's no longer actively developed, hasn't been for some time and there are no plans to restart it in the future. It is deprecated.
The ideal stack is corosync + pacemaker, with one exception. If you want/need Red Hat support, corosync + cman + rgmanager is the best choice. It is expected that Red Hat will switch to corosync + pacemaker "real soon now(tm)", as that is the platform (almost?) all other distros use.
