Yes, but if what he wants to do works under the 2.1.4 version as 
(probably) patched by Red Hat there would be no need to ask for help 
here for the next several years.   That's why there are 'enterprise' 
style distos that try not to change functionality over their long lives. 
  He's not really asking for extra features.
