Hi,

I had a problem with missing files in the Heartbeat-Packages, too.

But someone solved this for me with telling that there is a Pacemaker-package
including this files, because the cluster-manager with all his tools isn't part
of the linux-ha-project anymore. It's now included in the pacemaker-package.

You can find the pacemake-rpms and the pacemaker-pygui-rpm here:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/ha-clustering/RHEL_5/i386/
(or if you don't use RHEL5, go back some directories ;)

I didn't try the GUI, but I think it is the one you're looking for...and I also
think that he will ONLY work for the V2-style-configuration.
(I read somewhere, that he isn't hat good and likes to destroy configs,...but I
dunno where.)

So far....best regards

Flori

Betreff: [Linux-HA] General hb_gui and v1 / v2 question

I am starting to see how things work but still have a few questions.
I am still waiting for my 1 terrabyte resource to sync with DRBD so I
was going to address my heartbeat configuration. Now I have installed
the 2.1.3-3 CentOS 5 rpm. While following a few tutorials they were
hand modifying a file named haresources. I see that v2 uses an xml
(cib) file for configuration. I then found the screencast on the
website as to how to use the hb_gui. Here are my questions.

1) After installing the heartbeat rpm I do not have an hb_gui or
hbclient executable. I do have an hbclient.so library. Do I need to
build heartbeat from source to get the gui clients?
2) Do these gui clients only work with V2 style configuration?

thanks
