You can use a kernel package from backports.
linux-image-4.7.0-0.bpo.1-amd64-unsigned_4.7.8-1~bpo8+1_amd64.deb is
available if you add this line to the sources.list:
deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free
Then you have to use the kernel cmdline option "rootovl" instead of "aufs".
