Hi Paul, I don't think it's really an FAI problem, but more a kernel or hardware problem.
Could you try to install a simple ISO image of Ubuntu Lucid Server flavour? It would also be a good idea to exchange the boot kernel with the linux-image- server package on tftp... Please test again and if you can report back.... Thanks for testing, \sh On Thursday, August 12, 2010 03:11:21 am Paul Santos wrote: > Hello Stephan, > > Thank you for providing these new packages. > I'm running into an issue when attempting to build a Ubuntu 10.04LTS > client, and I'm not sure where the issue may be. > First, some details about my test setup: > > * Ubuntu 10.04LTS server with the latest FAI Ubuntu PPA packages: > > # dpkg -l |grep fai > ii fai-client 3.3.5ubuntu3 Fully > Automatic Installation client package > ii fai-doc 3.3.5ubuntu3 > Documentation for FAI > ii fai-quickstart 3.3.5ubuntu3 Fully > Automatic Installation quickstart pack > ii fai-server 3.3.5ubuntu3 Fully > Automatic Installation server package > > * Client system is a Dell PowerEdge R710, 2x 4-core 2GHz Xeon, 48GB RAM, > 6x146GB SAS disks attached to a Dell SAS/6 HBA > > fai-setup finishes successfully with no errors, successfully creating a NFS > root.
