hello, I'm trying to setup a wintv 1100 card on my computer, I ordered the antenna but I did not receive it for the moment. But I would like to test my configuration with FM radio. Is it possible ?
To install my card on my debian etch, I followed the excellent instructions provided here: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Hauppauge_WinTV-HVR-1110 I tried to scan with the dvbscan command, and I have some errors, but I think it is normal as I did not plug the antenna. For your information, here is the command and its corresponding output: $ scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/fr-Brest scanning /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/fr-Brest using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' initial transponder 546000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 initial transponder 482000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 initial transponder 506000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 initial transponder 490000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 initial transponder 530000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 initial transponder 514000000 0 1 9 1 1 0 0 >>> tune to: 546000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_1_2:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!! >>> tune to: 546000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_1_2:FEC_AUTO:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_32:HIERARCHY_NONE (tuning failed) WARNING: >>> tuning failed!!! I tried to listen to the radio using "radio" package provided with debian repository, and even with gqradio, but the behavior is the same, I can tune a frequency, but I cannot here anything. When I try a scan, it does not find any frequency. Please let me know if anyone has already done that, even with another card. Is it absolutely necessary to perform a first scan on dvb channels (with a plugged antenna) to access FM channels ? Sorry if my vocabulary is not appropriated, I know nothing about dvb. Best Regards, Yohann Martineau
