Hmm, this is normal ... I don't know if anybody managed to solve the
module-dependencies and to enable automatic-module-loading when starting
dvb-appz (but some people on the list tried to do this).
But easy way: Just write a little startup-skript and create a link into the
desired runlevel-dir ...

You can't grab a picture with vdr or view tv with kvdr. The nova has NO
mpeg-decoder, and to get a picture you need a software decoder. You can use
a simple tuning-programm from the dvb-driver-package and use mplayer to view
the streams ... but there were a lot of discussions about this on the list
before, so you first should them.
