"Caldera International, Inc., building upon its recently announced 
UnitedLinux partnership with Conectiva, today announced a comprehensive 
partnership with Conectiva, Inc. that will expand Caldera's presence in 
Brazil. Based in Curitiba, Brazil, Conectiva is the leading provider of 
Linux solutions and services to the Latin American market.

Under terms of the agreement, Conectiva's sales force and reseller 
channels will sell Caldera's products and services. Specifically, 
Caldera will provide the Volution product and services family of 
messaging and systems management solutions, as well as the company's 
Open UNIX and OpenServer UNIX solutions into Brazil, with future 
possibilities of extending the relationship to the rest of the Latin 
American market. In addition, Conectiva and Caldera will partner to 
provide customer support, training and professional services for the 
companies' mutual customers.

According to IDC, Linux server software experienced 24 percent growth in 
Brazil last year, compared to 21 percent growth for Microsoft Windows 
server software."
