http://www.systemlogic.net/agurusworld/19/ "Of course, up to this point, there were so many things that reminded me of Linux-Mandrake, I started hitting CONTROL-ALT-F1 and F2 and F3 and so on, to get the screen to change from the desktop to another log in screen. That didn't work, but I'm sure there's some keystroke out there that changes users easily in XP, but for now I had to bring up the LOG OFF screen via the Start Menu and select "Switch User". I was take back to the "Welcome" screen where I was informed that the user that I was logged in as currently had "programs running", yet I could still change users.
