N�o acredito que o Roxo tenha dito isto, mas ele mesmo pode responder.

Traduzindo a �ltima parte, ele vai gravar no volume definido pelo
par�metro f. Se for um dispositivo de disquetes (/dev/fd0)...
Ex.: tar cvMf /dev/fd0 arquivos.*
Voc� pode comprimir os arquivos antes de fazer o tar.
