| It all started with a slow leak in a tire… They rushed to assist, “ found” a nail imbedded, put the car on the hoist, and found more issues. My brakes were so shot, so they said, I didn’t dare drive up the road, and they would take care of it right away. Then came the push for the oil change and other items. The car was on the hoist, I was stuck…settled for brakes and tire repair. They became more and more aggressive. I was relieved to escape when I did. The new brakes are still moaning and groaning. Inspection elsewhere determined the new brakes were safe, but the installation shoddy and overpriced. Sadly, they are not doing themselves any favors!
Sent from my iPad I would stay away. Simple rear brake shoes replaced and they gouged the heck out of me. And made it sound like it was the world coming to an end. Mike Gordon, a friend and the previous operator of the station and he still owns the real estate, was fine.
Go see Vlad at Tracy's for honest reasonable work or Vlad's past partner Kol Flint at Lincoln gas on 117. Both provide good honest work at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the new operators of Doherty's can be quite liberal with the pen and upsell. Just my opinion based on my family's experience.

So far I have appreciated their service for the quick turnaround, most always getting a replacement car and not seeming to point out ‘new’ issues to my car that need immediate fixing. However, I have had a couple of head scratchers lately in situations where my initial quote for a repair went up by a lot because they had to replace another part in the same spot. This can evidently happen since they need to open up the can to see what’s in it, but what I didn’t like was that the call ahead of the repair was ‘a little more’, which then turned out ‘a lot’ in addition to the lack of a detailed invoice. If $300 turns in to $1300 it does not make me happy. However, whenever I get gas they seem genuinely concerned about the quality of their repairs and always check if my car has been good since their repair.
I am sticking to them for now, but we’ll see if there will be more surprises in the future. The dealership is certainly much more expensive than they are and they always want to replace a bunch of things that do not need replacing .
