Outside the Burlington ICE office on District Avenue, members of LincolnWitness
observed the arrest of three activists attempting to bring food to detainees at
the ICE Field Office.
The three brought baskets of food and were turned away at the door.
Burlington police were called and asked to remove the people who were charged
with a single count of trespassing.

This action followed previous attempts to aid to detainees being held in a
building zoned as an office, not a detention center — an unacceptable /
inhumane situation.
Back in June, Senators Markey and Warren "led the entire Massachusetts
Congressional delegation in writing to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
(ICE) Acting Director Todd Lyons and ICE ERO Boston Acting Field Office
Director Patricia Hyde, pressing them on whether ICE was violating agency
standards and holding detainees in inhumane conditions at a facility in
Burlington, Massachusetts.
