If you are one of the households that was put on the temporary bypass system for water last week, is your water as utterly undrinkable as ours? Ours is redolent with a vile plastic odor and tastes equally foul. Even the process of showering is affected, as the water vapor seems to magnify the plastic smell. Our connection to the water line on the street runs across the bike path and then over a stretch of lawn (in full sun) before tying into the house via the hose spigot. We were assured that the tubing used is “food grade”, but the water is not suitable for food preparation. We are even giving the dog bottled water at this point.
