Good Grief! Will you please re-read the email we sent regarding our request for a hiatus on political discussion on the list prior to Town Meeting? I'm going to make it easy for you and re-cap here:
Political discussions regarding Farrington and the Community Center were getting out of hand. We felt it best that people hold further discussion until the PROPER and DESIGNATED forum of TOWN MEETING. Posts from people who are ALREADY on MODERATION go into a holding queue so the moderators can review them for policy appropriateness. People are put on moderation when their posts do not conform to LincolnTalk policies (clearly outlined on our website - or during special request periods like this one). We have done so. The moderators work and have families, so we get the queue as soon and as often as other aspects of our lives allow. Posts from people who are NOT ALREADY on MODERATION go straight through to everyone, no moderator review. During the hiatus, we said we would put people on moderation if they posted political stuff. We have done so. This is how some posts are going through and some are not. There is no selective process going on. Which leads me to a further request... please stop with the assuming, harassing, rude, accusing, or threatening emails to the moderators. We are human and your neighbors. You have no idea what our thoughts are on either project - but I'm going to go ahead an out myself (speaking just for me, this single moderator)... I'm undecided. I intend to go into Town Meeting open to hearing discourse from both sides and make up my mind there. THAT IS WHAT TOWN MEETING IS FOR! There is no reason to expect anyone to create and maintain a separate forum to hash these things out. Think of all the people who are NOT on LincolnTalk and unable to participate. WE HAVE A FORUM CALLED TOWN MEETING! Let's be neighborly. Let's greet each other at Town Meeting kindly, as the earnest and well meaning people we each are. See you there, 'Margit (PS John and I share an email, he does not participate in LincolnTalk)
