In the future you can try applying an anti-desiccant (such as Wilt-Pruf) in
early winter to reduce moisture loss.  If you use it I’d recommend a (hand
pumped) pressurized sprayer to more easily treat the underside of the
leaves. Follow the directions on the bottle.
