Mat, if you have a library card, you can use it to borrow from the "Library of 
Things" at Cary Memorial Library in Lexington. They have a 35mm slide scanner I 
used, which was easy to set up, and did very fast scans.
If you want results suitable for large-format professional printing though, you 
might want to try something else.
