I am so glad that I wasn't the only one kept up by the mystery noise on Sunday
night/early morning. I woke up and walked around the house, opening exterior
doors and looking everywhere. When I returned to bed, my smart husband had the
perfect explanation, which he verified on Monday. The noise came from the
bridge demolition on Route 2A and 128. A piece of equipment was destroying the
concrete deck of half of the bridge (the other side had been removed this
summer and rebuilt). As soon as he provided the answer it made complete sense.
And, he drove by to verify it yesterday.
A mystery explained.
