There are a couple of stores in the Weston area where you simply know you can get something for everyone left on your list. My very favorite one is the family-owned Something Special in Lincoln where you can get anything from candles, cards, kitchen utensils (time to change out those toxic black serving stuff and get something new), Simon Pearce baubles, clothing, decorations, gnomes, games, children's toys, wrapping paper, lotions and yummy-smelling stuff, chocolate-covered strawberries and jewelry. And more. Quite literally anything and everything.

Something Special has been in business for 48 years, tucked in next to Donelan's. I do not think that in the ten years I have shopped there I have ever left with nothing, and most frequently I leave with everything. It's a great place for the part of your shopping journey when you hit full panic mode. Don't go to Target. Don't shop Amazon. Hop in your car and head to Lincoln. After Something Special, you can warm up with a hot drink at Twisted Tree cafe before going for a walk on the conservation trails that leave from the west side of the parking lot. This is shopping how it should be - small, local, friendly and fun.
Please note that the photos in this story are from two years ago - I completely forgot to take photos on my latest visit because my arms are typically filled with socks, stocking stuffers and puzzles.
Shop local!
Something Special is located in the Mall at Lincoln Station at 145 Lincoln Road. They are old school with no online shopping or even website. Hours are 9:30-6 most days (I think they’re closed Sunday outside of holiday weeks) but call ahead if you’re concerned. (781) 259-0544
