Reminder: Exploring the Holy Land Problem: Friday, Dec 6 and Saturday, Dec 7
For those interested in learning more about the challenges of establishing Equal Rights for Equal people in the Holy Land, I want to remind the Lincoln community of these two opportunities to hear from two internationally-known leaders in the Palestine Rights movement: * Professor Mazin Qumsiyeh, a (secular) Palestinian Christian from Bethlehem and founder of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity & Sustainability and Palestine Museum of Natural History. I should note that despite the libelous attacks by a handful of LincolnTalk members on Mazin’s character, he is definitely not an anti-Semite, has many Jewish friends living in Israel and around the world, and meets with members of the Jewish community on his frequent visits to the U.S. * Dr. Mark Braverman, Executive Director of Kairos USA, has been closely involved in the international church movement for Palestinian rights and is an expert on Jewish and Christian Zionism, and Christian-Jewish relations. I should note that in the 1990s, Dr. Braverman lived in Lexington and, like our family, was a member of Lexington’s Conservative synagogue, Temple Emunah. He is neither an anti-Semite nor a “self-hating Jew.” (Tonight) Friday, Dec. 6 @ 7:30 PM, Mazin and Mark will appear at the Community Church of Boston at 565 Boylston Street. * The event will also be available via Zoom: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81351813462#success * The event will be streamed and archived on the Community Church’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxzqBfbtvnhNKWmzpCm0lIA/videos (Tomorrow) On Saturday, Dec. 7 @ 2:00 PM, Mazin and Mark will appear at Bemis Hall, 15 Bedford Rd., Lincoln, MA (in-person only) Regards, Steve Low
