No help re indoor squirrels, but if they’re proliferating around a bird feeder and stripping flower buds and budding leaves, get “Hot Meats” for the feeder; they’re sunflower hearts coated with chili oil. They have no effect on birds-no burning sensation-but clear the yard of squirrels very quickly. Expensive, but you can make your own with seed and chili oil shaken in a bag.

Better not to kill the squirrels. They have a right to live, too. Dr. Nicholas Ribush6 Goose Pond Rd. The seeds will float on top and the squirrels will jump onto the sunflowers and quickly drown and sink thus "resetting the trap". empty the trap every couple of days.
there are tons of videos on youtube to learn how to make one of these traps. i have used our city recycling bins that have a lid. I prop the lid as a ramp.
Good luck.
