As people begin their scheduling of fall activities, I would like to provide a piano teacher recommendation. Our family has had Collen Katsuki teach our kids for approximately the last 10 years. When they were younger, she showed kindness, patience, and creativity in providing them not only the ability to understand music but the theoretical foundation they would need as the music they played became more challenging. Now that our daughters are older, she has appropriately modified her style to meet their needs at a higher level - she is an excellent fit for both novices as well as higher level students. This ranges from expertise in music theory, music history, and even slight changes in physical approaches that can pay off big dividends. My kids now not only have the ability to play, but also to have an appreciation for what they are listening to, have the ability to compose, understand the rules of improvisation, etc. Colleen is highly recommended by our family (coll...@shadowtracks.org)!
