The dilemma is that we are finding it more and more challenging to create this “Center of Community” as we learn of the issues created by increased traffic and parking , and the needs of young children (Magic Garden) and after-school activities (LEAP). The constraints of the campus to meet needs and desires (2 different things) in a cost effective manner seem daunting.
As adult programing takes place when children are in school, and is absent when children are around, there is not the intergenerational center that some have longed for. The intergenerational activities will occur between consumers of COA services and programing and younger adults enrolled in DPR classes. This “focal point” will operate between 9AM-3PM (approx.) Mon, Tues and Thurs., Fri, and on Wed., 9-noon. We may have reduced opportunities for adult activities and serendipitous encounters envisioned due to time and space constraints. Time will be a key driver. ------ Sara Mattes > On Sep 25, 2023, at 11:10 AM, dilla tingley <dillating...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Fuat, I am so glad you expressed it this way. > Scattering activities throughout the Town does not provide the focal point > for activities and serendipitous encounters that we envision for a real > "Center of Community". > Dilla Tingley, CCBC > > On Mon, Sep 25, 2023 at 8:26 AM Fuat Koro <kor...@gmail.com > <mailto:kor...@gmail.com>> wrote: >> Based on the Community Center discussions I’ve read on LT, I think there are >> two related, but distinct visions: >> >> 1.
