As someone planning a move this year to Lincoln, it was a great pleasure to
attend Saturday’s Annual Town Meeting and see such a well run and
thoughtful process with small town democracy in action.

I spoke in favor of the two bylaws that were adopted that were proposed by
the Green Energy Committee and thanked all of the many volunteers who spent
countless hours researching and developing the thoughts that led to them.
I neglected to thank the many employees of the town who also played a huge
role in those bylaws and who have been so actively involved in efforts to
see that Lincoln’s approach to climate and energy issues properly address
all constituent components and issues. My thanks to them for their time,
energy, expertise, and dedication to the town and its residents! It is
exciting to see that Lincoln takes a leading role in the state!

Going through the process of approvals and processes to build a new house
in Lincoln has made me so appreciative of the wonderful team that we have
of staff members and volunteers who have been available for questions and
have taken great care in making sure that rules are followed, but first
that the process is clear and straightforward. Those efforts protect the
town, all residents, and also those who are having a home built or
renovated.

All of the staff members in the departments that I have worked with
throughout the process have been exceptional to work with and send a clear
message of the positive approach of the town. That makes such a difference
for those of us deciding to make an important move to a new place and
certainly for everyone enjoying their lives in a wonderful small town.

It is so impressive to see the forward thinking approach of Lincoln and
shows us what a great decision we made in building our new home in town!

Best regards,

Scott Rodman
